Start With the Right Poster Layout and Size

Before you begin editing, choose the layout that works best with your athlete photo and then select the size you need.
Need a size that isn’t included? You can still resize your design—even without Canva Pro.
Customize the Sports Poster for Your Team
Once you understand how the template is put together, the fun part begins!
In the tutorial, I customize the poster by replacing the sample athlete, adjusting the photo to work with the layout, and updating the design for a different player.
You can customize elements such as:
- Athlete photos
- Player name, number, position and class year
- Team or school colors
- Logos and mascots
- Background images
- Design elements and effects
Don’t feel like you have to keep every element exactly where it is. Your athlete’s pose and photo will be different from the example, so move, resize or hide elements when needed to make the layout work for your image.
